BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — July 11, 2024 — Merritt Janow, chairman of the board of directors at Mastercard, was today named “Independent Director of the Year” by Corporate Directors as part of the magazine’s sixth annual Board Leadership Awards, presented in collaboration with AlixPartners.
Ms. Janow was recognized by a distinguished panel of public company board members for her work leading Mastercard's CEO transition and her key role in Mastercard's cybersecurity leadership to combat quantum and AI computing fraud, which are critical to the company's success. She also serves on the boards of directors of The New Economy Fund, Aptiv PLC, American Family Funds, Inc., American Funds Insurance Series, Inc. and Capital Income Builder.

Dale Wolf, Chairman of Molina Healthcare He was awarded the “Courage in the Boardroom” honor for the challenging task of revitalizing the family-owned company, installing new leadership and growing the enterprise value nearly tenfold from approximately $2 billion in 2017 to more than $20 billion by 2023.

The board will present the Lifetime Achievement Award to TK Kerstetter. Co-founder of Corporate Board Member and founder of Inside America's Boardrooms, he has served and helped shape the corporate governance community for over 25 years, and founded the Boardroom Summit 20 years ago, serving as this year's co-chair.
The awards ceremony will take place at Corporate Board Member's 20th Annual Board Meeting and Peer Exchange at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square on September 16th, followed by a panel discussion with Janow, Wolf, Charan and Kerstetter.
