Al Cook, CEO of De Beers Group, said: “Strong consumer demand for diamonds in the U.S. over the holiday season has undoubtedly helped stabilise the industry, with polished diamond prices rising again. Combined with the resumption of rough diamond imports into India, we have seen a strong increase in rough diamond demand in the first sales cycle of 2024. However, as the economic growth outlook for many major economies remains uncertain, we expect it will take some time for demand for rough diamonds to fully recover.”
