Power Digital has grown from 100 to more than 800 employees in just a few years, with impressive growth rates across all industries. Jeff Mason says the secret lies not in growth hacks or shiny new martech stacks, but in a “people-first” culture combined with a trove of unique commerce and media data designed to make marketing measurable, repeatable, and profitable. In the following interview, Mason explains how his company blends culture, data, and execution to stand out, and why measurement is more important than marketing talk.

Power in a Crowded Marketplace What do you think are the competitive advantages of digital marketing?

Power Digital is a growing technology company at the intersection of marketing, business strategy, and data intelligence. Our mission is simple. It's about relentlessly pursuing growth for our employees and clients.

We offer a unique combination of marketing consulting services, rich proprietary data, technology and campaign execution to drive measurable growth for our clients. This sets Power Digital apart from agencies that offer non-execution consulting services and technology-only solutions such as martech and adtech platforms.

Power Digital's data warehouse, which houses over $23 billion in commerce data and over $3 billion in media-related data, provides clients with critical insights to unlock incremental growth opportunities while reducing wasteful ad spend. Our power circuit process aligns strategy and execution to enable our brand partners to grow 2.6x faster than the industry average and consistently achieve year-over-year revenue growth of more than 27%.

How has the company grown over the years?

Since 2020, Power Digital has grown from 100 to over 800 employees, expanded internationally, and made several successful acquisitions to meet the needs of our clients. Such size can create pressure to grow at all costs. We took a different approach.

Rather than rushing to hire, Power Digital has adopted an intentional hiring process that prioritizes cultural fit over technical skills. This approach, along with our diverse team of innovative marketers, creatives, analysts, and technologists, serves us well in our relentless pursuit of delivering measurable business impact for our clients. This is also why our retention rates and client outcomes remain strong as we scale.

In the first quarter of 2025, we reorganized into five verticals: Consumer Packaged Goods, Fashion, B2B, Consumer Services, and Lifestyle. After just three months, aligning teams by industry using common KPIs has already increased revenue growth for our client by 12.3%.

Last year, we also launched Hughes Point, a strategic data consulting firm built to meet a pressing market need for affordable, high-performance marketing analytics for midmarket brands. It was designed for businesses seeking advanced measurement and strategy similar to enterprise players without the cost and complexity of enterprise levels.

How does the company balance AI-powered tools with human experts?

AI is a powerful enabler, but only when applied to strategy and measured against results. Too many teams jump on the AI ​​bandwagon without thinking through whether their results are improving or even understanding how to measure them.

Marketing platforms, data analytics tools, AI insights, marketing technology stacks, and more all aimed at improving marketing performance can add complexity and obscure what's working and what's not. As a result, many marketing teams are still guessing rather than measuring.

That's where human resources come into play. Our marketers, analysts, and technologists do more than just embed AI. They test it, measure it, recalibrate it, and make sure it's adding real value.
