Ghanaian highlife legend Nana Acheampong has advised young Ghanaian musicians to keep their future in mind when they start making money in the industry.

In an interview with UTV, he said that musicians need to plan for the future when things are going well because music is a “risky business”.

“Music is a very risky business when you start out. Even when things are going well, you can run into obstacles along the way.

“So, when money starts coming in, slowly start investing for your future,” he said.

Citing the dynamic nature of music, Nana Acheampong advised musicians to start investing in businesses and other projects they can rely on as the music business does not guarantee a steady income.

“Music is a dynamic thing, and what's trending today won't necessarily be trending tomorrow.

“You might be getting hits and feel like you're the best in the world right now, but keep in mind that it's not going to last, so start making plans for when you're no longer getting consistent hits,” he said.

Nana Acheapong, a former Roomba Brothers member, has recorded songs such as “Casanova”, “It's Too Late”, “Wala Beba”, “San Behue Wo Ma”, “Obi Dom Be”, He is known for songs such as “Odo Kuye Akie” and “Gyaesu”.
