Why traditional controls are not enough

- Update your AI governance policy. Most generative AI policies do not support autonomous agents. Update your policies to explicitly cover human participation requirements, authorized tools, permissions such as prohibited deployments, and escalation requirements. Clarify how you will obtain permission for experimental use and how your work will be supervised.
- Prepare for incidents with agents: Start incorporating agent-driven scenarios into your incident response plans: hostile agents, data breaches, shadow use, misinformation, and regulatory oversight. Work with your vendors and partners to understand the risks.
- Get involved: Agent-based AI is rapidly evolving, but little is known about its new behavior, especially when the agent interacts with it. The window between innovation and impact is narrowing and may require immediate action.
