Court of Appeal President Mr Justice Patrick Brookes has cited the positive outcomes of the 2019-2023 Judiciary Strategic Business Plan (JSBP) and expressed support for the recently launched new JSBP 2024-2028. .
Mr Brooks said that although the previous plan had been somewhat hijacked by the COVID-19 pandemic, it had been beneficial to the judiciary as it had improved the efficiency of the justice system.
“This plan has forced those of us in the justice system to become more proficient with technology to serve it in ways never before thought possible. Or at least not easily accessible. I didn't expect that,'' he told the audience at the launch at the Terranova All-Suite Hotel in St. Andrew last Wednesday.
“We believe the results from our previous strategic plan have impressed our stakeholders. This strategic plan incorporates these technological advances and provides a path forward for our new plan for 2024-2028. It was opened.”
Brooks said the new plan has advantages over the previous plan because the previous plan opened the eyes to the possibilities available to the judiciary, and teamwork, dedication and technology can accomplish more than originally thought possible. He said there is.
“We at the Court of Appeal are therefore in a position to unreservedly embrace the judiciary's new vision and commit to playing our part in ensuring that the objectives of the new plan are achieved.” said.
“This new business plan incorporates the core values of Fairness, Accountability, Fairness, Integrity, Independence, Innovation and Respect (FAIR) and Commitment, Communication, Civility, Accessibility, Responsiveness and Empathy (CARE). It includes some consideration for stakeholders with values. There's something for everyone in there.”
He added that the business plan is also impressive in that it incorporates a robust corporate risk management system to ensure sustainability and mitigate a number of threats.
