R&B Money Podcast celebrated its 100th episode with a fascinating interview with R&B crooner Chris Brown. In the show, which premiered on YouTube on Saturday (April 27), Brown talked about his own evolution in the R&B game.
During Convo with hosts Tank and J. Valentine, the 34-year-old artist discussed the long-term business strategy he began formulating at age 17 after achieving initial success. It started with him investing in a Burger King franchise and then focused on the music business.
When Brown turned 25, he negotiated a 50/50 profit-sharing deal with his former label, Jive Records, before disbanding and moving to his current recording base, RCA Records. After finding further success with his own music, the 28-year-old was able to use that power to secure his master recordings from his 2011 album. fameto his current release, 11:11. Now, Brown is the master of his own destiny.
“So now I'm able to see real money and see something from what I've created, because I know I created it, so now Because I can go and do this, 'I can create a little bit more,''' Breezy explained at the 58-minute mark in the video below.
“Wait until you see what I'm going to make,” he continued. “So now I get to own everything you know, and it's like you said, I'm like proof.” [investing in yourself]. ”
“Hey, I'm not saying keep your head down. Just be your best self,” Brown added, referring to his relentless work ethic in the R&B game.

Elsewhere in the interview, Brown named his top five R&B singers. Breezy named, in no particular order, Tank, Usher, Brandi, Tevin Campbell, and Sam Cooke.
