Every five years the Grampian Housing Association Group Board carries out a comprehensive review of the Association's strategic direction.
The environment in which the Association operates has changed significantly since the current five-year business plan was developed, resulting in an increase in much of Grampian's cost base.
Following the Management Committee's review of Year 1 performance of the business plan, the Annual Plan for 2024/25 (linked to the Five Year Plan) was also reviewed, with the first 12 months seeing a renewed and restated commitment to improving customer service, investing in residents' homes to improve their comfort and safety, building new homes and continuing to work towards reducing carbon emissions.
Grampian Housing Association is the largest community-based housing association in the North East, providing over 4,000 high quality affordable rental homes, over 300 shared ownership homes and around 200 mid-priced properties (mainly for key workers) as well as providing a range of services including factoring to over 1,000 homeowners across the Grampian region.
Grampian is one of the best associations to work for, with 86% of employees rating it as a “great housing association to work for” in the most recent employee satisfaction survey. This is in recognition of the excellent benefits, rewards and support we offer, as well as our long-standing commitment to investing in the development of our employees to be the best they can be, and through that, continually improving the service to our residents.
Throughout 2023-2024, Grampian HA Group will provide new affordable, safe and energy-efficient rental homes and deliver high standards of housing services, whilst continuing to support tenants facing the cost of living crisis.
Building on last year’s success, Grampian is now focused on delivering the Grampian Deal, aiming to increase the delivery of new social housing by a further 100 homes, as well as a £5.2 million programme of investment in existing homes, building on the continued digitisation of service delivery, improving energy efficiency and reducing costs for households.
Chief executive Craig Stirratt said: “We recognise that many households may be struggling to cope with the cost of living crisis, which is why it's particularly important for us to demonstrate that we offer value for money to our tenants and service users. Our staff are committed to delivering on our core purpose of providing great places, great homes, great services and great opportunities for our residents. I'm proud of what our staff have achieved over the last year in a very challenging business environment.”
“Our strategic objectives for the coming year are focused on improving existing homes and building more homes, built on strong governance and the continued digitisation of our services and improved data management. We will achieve this through the delivery of the Grampian Deal, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service, continuous improvement and equality, diversity and inclusion.”
