HIV.gov provides regular updates on: Termination Disclaimer The Coalition was formed in response to a call from the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) to scale up public-private partnerships to accelerate HIV/AIDS efforts since its launch on World AIDS Day 2021. Since its one-year anniversary on World AIDS Day 2023, the Coalition has been working with its coalition partners to implement activities and partnerships aimed at tackling HIV across regions and countries. Read on to learn how the Coalition and its members are scaling up public-private partnerships to accelerate HIV efforts.

  • The coalition currently consists of 45 members, including new additions Chevron, Ash Wellness, and Open Loop.   • In February, the coalition launched an initiative to educate policy leaders in Washington, DC and elsewhere about the importance of federal HIV programming and called on these leaders to fully support the effort.   • In March, the coalition partnered with the OUT Georgia Business Alliance to host the Atlanta chapter's first meeting. Already 16 businesses have joined the chapter and met with four new members of the Atlanta HIV Community Advisory Board, which advises the chapter's activities and represents organizations such as SisterLove, Georgia Equality and ThriveSS. The coalition plans to launch a second chapter in Houston this summer in partnership with the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.
  • During the 80th Presidential Advisory Committee on AIDS (PACHA) meeting on March 27, Coalition Director Mario Harper gave public comments, sharing the Coalition’s work with PACHA and his vision for how the private sector can be a catalyst to achieve the ambitious goals outlined in NHAS.
  • On Thursday, April 25, the Health Action Alliance, which manages the coalition, Termination Disclaimer—Termination Disclaimerexperts from the Deloitte Institute for Health Equity, Mercer and Chevron came together to discuss what it means to address health equity in the workplace, why it's good for business and how to get started. Speakers also explored how addressing HIV in the workplace can serve as a model for addressing other health disparities.
  • The coalition has launched a new industry action cohort focused on expanding access to HIV testing, with additional cohorts with government relations leaders and the media and entertainment sector scheduled to launch later this year.

When President Biden announced NHAS on World AIDS Day 2021, he highlighted the importance of fostering new public-private partnerships to reach new audiences and new stakeholders with key HIV response efforts.
