Nissan's 'The Arc' business plan includes SUVs and pickup trucks in India, Middle East and Australia

  • The brand will launch five EVs and six new ICEs in the AMIEO region.
  • Two new SUV models will be produced in India.
  • The next-generation Nissan Navara, developed jointly with Mitsubishi Motors, will be launched in Oceania.

Earlier this week, Nissan announced “The Arc” business plan from 2024 to 2026, which serves as a bridge between its 2020-2023 NEXT plan and its long-term Ambition 2030 vision. The company has now revealed additional details about its plans in the AMIEO region, which includes Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania.

Nissan aims to increase annual sales by 1 million vehicles, of which 300,000 are expected to come from the AMIEO region. Through The Arc, Nissan plans to launch 16 new electric vehicles and his 14 ICE vehicles globally. Five of these EVs and six new ICE models will be coming to AMIEO. This also includes the next-generation Leaf, which is expected to transform into a crossover.

Europe will lead the way. More than 40% of Nissan's European sales in 2026 will be comprised of BEVs, and 75% of sales will be electric models. Production of the new EV will also begin at the Sunderland plant in the UK. The company's new EVs will also be equipped with AC bidirectional functionality starting in Europe. The continent will also receive five new Nissan EVs over the next two years, including a Micra replacement electric vehicle.

In India, Nissan launched three new models and aims to sell 95,000 units across the country in 2026, a significant increase from last year's sales of 63,000 units. Two of these new models will be SUVs produced at the company's plant in Chennai. Nissan also wants to expand sales in Africa from 56,000 to 110,000 units, and plans to launch two Indian-made SUVs in the region. The company also plans to launch its first EV in South Africa by 2026.

People living in the Middle East will soon have access to five new SUVs, including two from India. No Nissan EVs will be launched in the region as part of The Arc. In Oceania, Nissan plans to launch four new models, as well as “additional new electric vehicles” whose details are unknown. One of his most attractive new models is the next generation of his Navara, co-developed with Mitsubishi.
