What is a 0% APR Business Credit Card?
With a 0% APR business credit card, you pay no interest for a specified number of months or billing cycles. Depending on the card, it can be 9 months, 12 months, or even 15 months. During that time, you won't be charged interest even if you don't pay off your card in full each month.
However, you have to pay monthly. Failure to do so may result in the issuer not only ending the interest-free period early, but also subjecting you to a higher penalty APR. Regardless of when or how the introductory period ends, interest will accrue on the balance plus future charges.
Can your company use personal credit cards with 0% APR?
For sole traders, personal cards are also an option, as long as you don't mix business and personal expenses. You should also pay attention to your credit score if you plan to finance a major acquisition that could significantly worsen your debt-to-income ratio. Corporate businesses (LLCs, LLPs, corporations) should completely avoid using cards in their personal names for business expenses, as this could jeopardize their limited liability protection.

Who should use a 0% APR business credit card?
Almost every entrepreneur can benefit from a 0% APR business credit card. It's essentially an interest-free loan — at least for a while. However, these cards are especially beneficial if:
-
You are starting a new business. A 0% APR business card can be a great business credit card for startups. You can use these cards to finance your business expenses while building cash flow.
-
Need to finance a large purchase but don't qualify for a small business loan. Business loans charge interest from the beginning. So even if you qualify, using a credit card with a 0% APR intro offer and paying it off right away may be a cheaper way to finance it.
-
You already have business credit card debt. A balance transfer business credit card may allow you to transfer your balance to a card with a lower interest rate, but 0% APR business cards that allow you to transfer your balance and not pay interest are somewhat rare.
-
You have a repayment plan. After the introductory APR period ends, you will be required to pay continuing APR on your outstanding balance, which tends to have higher interest rates. If it can take months or even years to pay off your debt beyond the introductory APR period, using a credit card can become very expensive in the long run.
Can I qualify for a 0% APR business credit card?
Generally, you need a good or excellent personal credit score to qualify for most business credit cards. This is especially true for companies with an intro APR of his 0%.
Business credit card issuers typically perform rigorous credit checks when reviewing applications, which can temporarily impact your personal credit score. Check each card issuer's guidelines and focus your search on cards that are likely to qualify.
Also, know that business credit cards require a personal guarantee. This means that you will be stuck with debts that the company cannot pay. This is especially important to keep in mind if you plan to take advantage of the interest-free period to finance a big-ticket item.
