The Composite Confidence Index (economic sentiment index), in the form of an underlying index, increased 2.0 percentage points from the previous month to 93.4 due to various movements of the constituent stocks. The Business Confidence Index increased 2.8 percentage points to 93.9, and the Consumer Confidence Index decreased 1.7 percentage points to 91.0.
Between entrepreneurConfidence in the economy increased in August in industry (+3.7 points), selected services (+3.0 points) and construction (+1.2 points), and only declined in trade (-4.0 points).
consumer Confidence in the economy decreased compared to July. There was a slight increase in the number of respondents who expect the overall economic situation in the Czech Republic to worsen over the next 12 months. The number of households assessing their current financial situation as worse compared to the past 12 months remained unchanged. There was a slight increase in the number of households who fear that their financial situation will worsen over the next 12 months. The share of respondents who consider that now is not a good time to make major purchases increased.
