The basic index form of the Composite Confidence Index (Business Confidence Index) decreased by 1.3 points to a value of 92.5 moms, reflecting the various developments in its components. Business confidence fell 2.8 points to 92.7, while consumer confidence rose 5.8 points to 91.2.
Confidence in the economy entrepreneur In January, only the construction industry increased (+7.8 points). All other surveillance departments experienced declines. Industry rose by 5.5 points, trade by 0.3 points and specific services by 1.3 points.
consumer Confidence in the economy has increased, returning to November's value (91.2). The number of respondents who expect overall economic conditions to worsen over the next 12 months has decreased significantly compared to December. There was also a decline in the number of households rating their current financial situation as worse than in the past 12 months, and a decline in the number of respondents expecting their financial situation to worsen over the next 12 months. The percentage of consumers who think now is not a good time to make major purchases has decreased slightly.

In a news release from the Czech Statistical Office, the criteria for calculating the base index will change in January 2024. For 2024, the long-term average from January 2003 to December 2023 is calculated. The long-term average is changed once a year with news release published data in January.
