BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) today announced the release of the State Health Improvement Plan for 2024-2029. This plan was designed through extensive data evaluation and collaboration with a wide range of partners across the state.
This plan establishes a vision for promoting the health and well-being of North Dakotans by identifying health priorities that inform the development of related goals, objectives, and activities. This health improvement plan is part of HHS' strategic business plan to be released this summer to achieve HHS' vision for North Dakota to be the healthiest state in the nation.
The State Health Improvement Plan is shared proactively as a framework for regional coalitions to use in identifying relevant goals and activities. Coalitions and partners will have the opportunity to apply for relevant grants and support.
The focus of the State Health Improvement Plan includes strengthening North Dakota's health care workforce to ensure the state can meet the needs of North Dakotans, particularly in primary care, cardiac care, oral health, cancer screening, and prevention. This includes expanding access to essential health services, including services that support prevention and prevention. Manage chronic diseases. Other areas of focus include connecting North Dakotans to services and programs that support economic, behavioral and physical health, fostering a culture of health and building community resiliency. .
