Two experienced restaurateurs have opened an eye-catching restaurant at a prominent Vinton intersection.
pollard 107 south The vacant building that previously housed Star City Playhouse has been converted into a large eatery with indoor and outdoor seating. The address is in the name.
The online menu features 36 appetizers and mains, including a variety of meat and vegetarian dishes, such as the 14-ounce ribeye ($32.99) and orecchiette pasta with white beans, spinach, Parmesan, garlic, thyme and black pepper ($22.99). Dishes and salads are listed. The company's website identifies its owners as Jonathan Pate and Todd Lancaster. Their other restaurants are Awful Arthur's Seafood Company In Roanoke and Salem, cast plate and pint in Roanoke County, the site said.
To support Pollard 107, Vinton and Roanoke counties agreed to pay for the building in exchange for the owner agreeing to spend at least $1.2 million on the facility and hire at least 20 full-time employees at an average hourly wage. A deal was signed to provide up to $205,000 in improvements. Earn at least $10 and generate enough sales to generate $50,000 in meal taxes for him within the first year of business.
