Breweries and restaurants could open Grandin Village.
A preliminary project proposal received by Roanoke's Planning and Building Department last month envisions a “brewery restaurant” and dental clinic on the site of a former gas station at 1514 Grandin Ave., S.C.

City officials are proposing to rebuild a former Texaco gas station in Roanoke's Grandin Village and include a brewery, restaurant and dental clinic.
David Hungate, Roanoke Times
The large awning and station building are still in place, and live entertainment has been performed in front of audiences on the half-acre grounds. Under the new proposal, crews would remove the awning and install additions to the front of the building. Thomas Gallaher proposed a project called the Grandin-Texaco Redevelopment. He needs zoning approval to build it.
Jillian Papa Moore, deputy director of the Department of Planning, Building and Development, said the city would be asked to grant a special exception if the project has tenants. But as of Feb. 6, the Roanoke Metropolitan Board of Appeals, which decides such issues, had not received the request.
