Scannel properties Indiana, which builds warehouses for Amazon and other companies, is building a 120,000-storey building with 220 employee parking spaces and 395 van parking spaces at the Roanoke Industrial Technology Center, a business park on U.S. 460 East. Plans were submitted for a 3,000 square foot warehouse. Preliminary diagrams of vehicle circulation showed a number of vans marked AMZ moving around the site (AMZ is Amazon's stock symbol).
Roanoke officials declined to identify the companies expected to be the facility's end users.
As reported, Deschutes proposed building a brewery on the property early on, but that never happened. On October 9, an urban development website posted a page with building and infrastructure drawings for the warehouse project, but it did not explain who the building was for.

Carilion Cancer Project Migration
carilion clinic has rezoned its future cancer center on Reserve Avenue to a two-acre parcel that will be used as a parking lot next to the clinic's main building about 1,000 feet to the east.
The location's address is 5 Riverside Circle SW, as listed in preliminary documents filed with the city earlier this month. The new facility will replace the aging cancer center located south of Jefferson Street.
When the project was announced in 2019, Carillion envisioned building the center at Reserve Avenue and Franklin Road. This grassy lot was once home to a Naval Reserve building.
But Carillion later decided it would be better to stay closer to the existing building. The health system is raising funds for the project, which is estimated to cost $150 million and is “subject to successful fundraising and a thorough architectural and construction plan and schedule.” “The quiet stages of gathering continue and details regarding the center will not be finalized until sometime next year,” spokeswoman Hannah Curtis said in an email.
