New York-headquartered technology company Symphony has chosen Belfast as the location for a multi-functional hub which will create 17 high-quality jobs over the next 12 months.
Symphony has developed communication [software] Symphony is a messaging, voice, directory and analytics platform for global finance, used by over 625,000 financial services professionals across 1,000+ institutions.
The investment is supported by the Northern Ireland Investment Authority, which has been engaged with the company since 2021. The Authority invited Symphony's President and CFO, Ben Kunelich, to the Northern Ireland Investment Summit in September 2023 and subsequently organised a two-day visit for a senior delegation from the company, who met with existing investors and were impressed with what Northern Ireland has to offer.
Commenting on the decision to set up base in Belfast, Symphony's CFO Ben Kunelich said: “The Northern Ireland Investment Summit was by far the best investment event I have ever attended. I was keen to explore the potential of Northern Ireland for Symphony and after speaking with other investors and local universities we were convinced that Northern Ireland was the perfect location for our company.”
“The new site will provide the capacity needed to support our rapidly growing business and help Symphony achieve its growth plans. We are excited about the talent pool in Northern Ireland and will partner with universities in future to provide placements and employment opportunities. Our aim is to grow beyond the initial 17 roles and establish a larger operation in Belfast.”
