Entrepreneurial high school students compete to win $25,000 in Provo on April 29th
PROVO, Utah, April 24, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ — America First Credit Union's 7th Annual Statewide Invest Nest Competition concludes April 29 in Provo, Utah Winners of several state school district competitions will compete to win $25,000 in prizes. The state finals event is open to the public and begins at 6:30 p.m. at 5132 N 300 W in Provo.
Invest Nest is a business plan-style competition open to all Utah high school students to invest in business ideas. At the end of the presentations, a vote will be taken by Invest Nest judges, the public, investors and donors to determine which businesses have the best chance of success.
The distinguished judges selected for this year's event are: Ryan Starks – Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Alex Bean – Co-founder of DIVVY. Blake Weathers – Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at America First Credit Union. Jeremy Andrus – CEO of Traeger Pellet Grills. Jason Johnson – Co-founder and CEO of Quick Quack Car Wash.
The winning student will receive a cash prize in addition to the prize money already won at the district level competition. State-level prizes are awarded as follows: 1st place – $12,500, 2nd place – $7,500, and 3rd place – $5,000. Prize money must be used to pay project costs. However, half of the prize money can be used for college or secondary education tuition, books, and supplies.
The press and the public are invited to attend the final contest and voting event on April 29th from 6:30pm to 8pm at John Pestana's Man Cave, 5132 N 300 West, Provo, Urah 84604.
