Several student teams from Chula's BBA International Program swept over 10 awards in business plan competitions over the past year, competing against prestigious universities such as the University of Florida, HEC Montreal, University of Alberta, Maastricht University, and Nanyang University. . others. Some of the major events where the Chula BBA team has won awards recently include the Indonesian Capital Market Student Study (ICMSS), UW Global Business Case Competition (UW GBCC), L'Oréal Brandstorm, and more.
Chula BBA team participated in the 23rd Indonesia Capital Market Student Study Group (ICMSS) held in Indonesia and won the grand prize and became the world champion. This competition is the oldest and largest financial competition related to capital markets in Southeast Asia. Team representative Pong Wanalot said, “Participating in the 23rd ICMSS was a memorable experience that greatly contributed to our growth. It provided a great opportunity for analytical research and development.” This success far exceeded our expectations and would not have been possible without the support of our supervisors and alumni of the BBA Chula program. ”
Recently, Chula BBA students achieved outstanding results at the UW Global Business Case Competition (UW GBCC) held at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA in mid-April 2024. The students won first place in the short case and social media challenge categories, and were runners-up in the team category. UW GBCC is a global business plan competition with over 20 years of history, drawing teams from top business schools around the world, including the United States, Canada, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Team representative Papichaya Siryontrakhan had this to say about the two rounds of competition: The first round involved five hours of litigation in which Tim Hortons collaborated with other universities to develop a strategy for its expansion into China. The second round consisted of his 24-hour deal with Costco, which focused on his wholesale market entry plans into Brazil, UAE, and India. She expressed her pride in representing Chulalongkorn University and Thailand, especially when giving a presentation to her CEO and management team of the company.
In preparation for the competition, the team practiced different cases and presented them to professors and alumni to get feedback and improve their strategies. The main factors for their success were the strong business foundation and excellent analytical skills cultivated through regular training at the Chulalong Concase Club, which fosters skills essential to the education and development of students at BBA Chula. .

Wisconsin GBCC
Recently, on April 30, 2024, a Chula BBA student won the L'Oréal Brandstorm 2024 contest, becoming the only representative from Thailand. They were selected from over 160 teams to advance to the world stage. Second place went to the team from Thammasat University.
Team principals Boorani Songvej and Achiraya Pranomchaikul commented as follows:
“This year’s competition was extremely challenging as it focused on areas not typically targeted by customers and had the challenge of ‘reinventing the future of professional beauty through technology.’ The strategy had to align with L'Oréal's commitment to focus on technology.The win was great and made everyone proud to make the most of their abilities, regardless of the outcome.
