By setting net-zero targets in line with our only future, a 1.5°C future, businesses can make an important contribution to limiting the worst impacts of climate change.

Why is it 1.5℃?
To limit the worst climate impacts and avoid irreversible damage to societies, economies and the natural world, we must limit temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. To this end, it is necessary to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
That's why this initiative is calling on forward-thinking business leaders to publicly commit to achieving their companies' net zero, 1.5°C targets and be recognized in the lead-up to COP 26 in November 2021. Major companies have already certified that they are 1.5°C compliant. The business model is possible and there is evidence that these companies are best placed to grow as the global economy makes a just transition to a net-zero future by 2050.
