MONROE COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — Neighbors are helping neighbors in Monroe County, Ohio, after devastating tornadoes ripped through many areas of the county.
Cleanup continues in Monroe County just weeks after a devastating tornado left residents overwhelmed with property damage.
Fortunately, one local company is offering its services free of charge to those affected.
Monroe County's excavator, TTA Services, is active and doing everything it can to assist in the extensive cleanup.
The company's owner, Tyler Abbott, shares how he helped families today who saw their properties torn apart by the twister.
“This barn was stripped down. It was torn apart. There's another barn here and they're trying to salvage it. But there's tin everywhere. The house was demolished, but they're rebuilding it. I’m just trying to get things cleaned up so I can do it.”

The damage caused by the tornado was extensive, and Abbott said without the help of others, he and his team would have been in a difficult situation.
“Obviously, there's a lot of damage done here. No one can clean everything up by themselves. I mean, we have a lot of volunteers here. We all need to come together during this time. Everyone is united.”

He says he feels the need to help his neighbors during difficult times.
“It's great. We live here, my kids go to school here, and like I said, it's just a community thing. It feels great to be able to fulfill my role and work on these activities.”

Fortunately for county residents, theirs is a community that comes together in times of need.
That is wonderful. I mean, people reached out and said they would be happy to help. They came out and helped. And we see that here in Monroe County, everyone is pulling together. ”
