Together: Building a Stronger LDH and a Healthier LouisianaThe fiscal year 2022 (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022) business plan defines how the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) will make measurable improvements to programs, services and outcomes over the coming year.
Teamwork is at the core of who we are as Louisianans and at the heart of our work with the more than 4.6 million people we serve as the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH). So it's only fitting that LDH's first business plan in nearly a decade is titled “Together: Building a Stronger LDH and a Healthier Louisiana.” This ambitious plan is a blueprint for concrete, measurable efforts to build on our foundation while setting new goals, embracing change, and striving to progress and improve every day.
By the end of fiscal year 2022, progress will be implemented and measured through four key initiatives:
- Improving the health and well-being of Louisianans with an emphasis on prevention
- Rebuilding the work culture of #TeamLDH
- Strengthening customer service, partnerships and community relations
- Transparency, accountability and compliance with state and federal regulations
Together, we will deliver on these commitments through 17 initiatives with 42 goals designed to move us forward as a more efficient, effective and responsive state agency. Our goals are to improve the services we provide to Louisianans, strengthen our #TeamLDH structure and partnerships with community leaders and public universities, and strive to be the best stewards of public resources possible.
LDH plans to submit a report at the end of FY22 detailing our performance, lessons learned and opportunities for further improvement. Unforeseen challenges will undoubtedly arise throughout the year, especially as we work urgently to end the pandemic, but having clearly defined priorities and goals in this business plan will help us maintain our focus and commitment to achieving them.
