“Young Entrepreneur” pitches his business plan
Inspiring students with entrepreneurship: On Thursday, 27 students from the Golisano Institute's Academy for Young Entrepreneurs had the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to investors.
Based on the attractiveness and merits of students' ideas, representatives of local companies will provide startup funds to students.
News10NBC spoke with one of the students Thursday night.
“My business is a prom dating website that connects students who don't have great social skills or are too shy to ask. That's what my website does,” Pittsford Sutherland said Veer Kothari, a student at the university and CEO of Prom Pair.
Additionally, three students were selected to compete against students from 14 other states in the national championship.
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) was founded in 2004 with the goal of developing students between the ages of 11 and 18 into confident entrepreneurs.
