To find the right technology to help transform its business, ARDIC tried different solutions offered by companies operating in Egypt. After testing multiple solutions, the company decided to implement IBM Planning Analytics to improve budgeting and planning efficiency and streamline project management.
Soueif comments: “We initially considered off-the-shelf planning, budgeting and project management systems, but we quickly realised that our complex business model required a more versatile solution that could be customised to suit our unique needs.
“We were impressed with the robustness and flexibility of IBM Planning Analytics. We also liked the fact that we could implement Planning Analytics in the cloud to avoid the costs of managing and maintaining an on-premise solution. IBM also recommended working with Business Vision to assist us with the implementation process.”
IBM Business Partner Business Vision worked closely with ARDIC to develop a comprehensive solution for strategic, operational and project planning with IBM Planning Analytics. By clearly defining the relationships between the three plans within the system, ARDIC will be able to align its business with changing market conditions.
To effectively manage and allocate costs, ARDIC is building a module in IBM Planning Analytics that applies policies to check purchase requests against project budgets before payment is made, reducing the risk of unplanned spending.
At the time of writing, ARDIC and Business Vision are also integrating IBM Planning Analytics into the company's Maisonette ERP system, which will enable ARDIC to automatically import actuals from its financial system into plans to ensure each project stays on track.
