Bermuda Airways will begin flying on August 31 as the only airline based in Bermuda, offering services for premium travelers.
The airline will initially connect LF Wade Airport in St. George's, Bermuda, with Boston's Logan and New York's Westchester County, with five weekly flights to each airport. Service is scheduled to begin in Fort Lauderdale on September 22nd.
BermudAir plans to eventually introduce all business class cabins, but the airline is launching the service before refurbishing its Embraer E175 aircraft. At launch, the airline will operate an 88-seat E175 aircraft, of which only 44 seats will be sold.
Baumdo Air plans to complete the cabin renovation in November, at which point the E175 will have 30 aisle class seats (one on each side of the center aisle).

The new seats are 19.5 inches wide with 44 inches of space between rows, underseat storage for carry-on luggage, seat power, free Wi-Fi, privacy shields and end tables.
“We remain committed to beginning to close seasonal service gaps and establishing frequency of service to and from Bermuda this fall,” Bermuda Airways founder and CEO Adam Scott said in a statement. “We are excited to launch BermudaAir as Bermuda's first airline.” “Our mission to improve the travel experience for everyone and provide timely, traveler-centric, stress-free flights on these new routes is just the beginning.”
Scott is a former investment banker who most recently served as CEO of Odyssey, a start-up airline that had long planned to operate all business class flights from London City Airport.
Introductory one-way fares start at $199.
