Gitpod is set up for automation and makes programming your work easy. More than 350,000 developers worldwide are on the list of this tool.
Leading startup Gitpod has raised millions of euros ($3 million) in funding from international investors to further develop its open source coding platform. The company split off on Thursday. The lead investor in the new round of funding is General Catalyst, a US spring VC firm. Next are Speedinvest, Crane and Vertex US startup investment firms.
Gitpod makes life faster, easier and more fun to program. It is the first to introduce Startup to the automated creation of development cycles in the cloud.
This proposition also benefits investors: “Developers today bring large codebases and complex tasks to the battlefield, but behind the scenes, they face the unexpected: productivity and collaboration.” The course will be taught by Steve Herrod, CEO of Catalyst.
The idea for Gitpod came from three people from the developer community: Sven Efftinge, Moritz Eysholdt, and Jan Köhnlein. The coding platform was launched in the summer of 2018 and has since gained over 350,000 signed-up users.
