Washington, April 20, 2022 Germany, July 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Visual Objects, the B2B guide to choosing the best creative services, Nearly half (47%) of small businesses have no search engine optimization (SEO) efforts. In their business.

Surveyed SMBs cited the complexity of SEO strategies and lack of immediacy of results from SEO efforts as reasons for delaying SEO investments. However, 25% of SMBs plan to implement an SEO strategy in 2022, citing the long-term benefits.

Visual Objects surveyed 1,003 small business managers and owners to explore current SEO trends. The report revealed small business reliance on SEO, preferred SEO software and tools, and overall SEO strategies.

2022 Small Business SEO Survey Results:

Here are some trends our team found for 2022.

● Nearly half (47%) of SMBs are not currently investing in SEO. Over a quarter (27%) of SMBs will start investing in SEO in 2021, and a quarter (25%) plan to invest in SEO in 2022.

  • Small businesses cited keyword research (43%), technical SEO optimization (40%), and local search optimization (37%) as their primary SEO tactics.
  • Twenty-one percent (21%) of small businesses believe website engagement is the most important metric for tracking success.
  • Over 40% of small businesses use in-house SEO software and tools instead of hiring an outside firm.
  • Even though SEO is underutilized by many small businesses, the majority (79%) are confident that they understand SEO best practices.

“SEO is a vast area, so make one improvement at a time,” Gray says. “Focusing on just one pillar of SEO, such as technical development, can result in a faster, mobile-friendly, and more indexable site. You can also improve your on-site SEO by incrementally improving your keyword usage and meta tags.”

All of these SEO techniques can be efficiently executed by an in-house team, which should motivate small businesses to increase their investment in SEO.
