A Gwinnett County yard was so overgrown that its owner nearly got arrested, but now Channel 2 Action News Audience.
Matt Johnson, Channel 2 Gwinnett County Bureau Chief I reported on this house last week. after local residents said they were tired of the blight on their neighborhood.
This time, a man from Braselton showed up and cleaned up the entire yard himself, hoping to save the homeowner from going to jail.
“When I first got here it was like a jungle,” said Matt Robbins, owner of Better Cuts in Braselton.
A neglected Gwinnett County yard was an eyesore for neighbors last week, but now, for the first time in years, the lawn is actually visible.
“It took me a whole day to get this down to where it is now,” Robbins told Johnson.
Robbins said he's never met the 59-year-old homeowner whose house has been neglected for years, but that's not the problem.
“I don't know what her situation is, but I just ask that you do a good deed and help her out,” Robbins said.

After Robbins saw Johnson's report last week, he drove an hour to his home on Rockborough Trail in unincorporated Norcross and got to work alone.
“We started by using a weed whacker to remove the larger debris,” Robbins said.
His goal: to help neighbors get rid of eyesores and also help strangers avoid arrest.
“Nobody should go to jail for something like this,” Robbins said.
He said the woman came to the door but never opened it.
Law enforcement said she ignored numerous charges and court appearances for at least five years.
“As far as getting this over with for her and trying to lighten her burden a little bit and help her mentally,” Robbins said.
Even if she doesn't say thank you, there are many in the community who will.
“Several people stopped by and said thank you,” Robbins said.
After cleaning up, Johnson contacted regulators.
A spokesman said the arrest warrant remains active because the homeowner has repeatedly failed to appear in court.
