The New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC) has announced a new tool to help small businesses here in the Garden State.
The New Jersey Small Business Manual provides information and guidance for starting, maintaining, and expanding a small business in the state.
This effort was led by NJBAC, a division of the State Department, in collaboration with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), the Office of Innovation, and other community-based partners.
Information in the manual includes items such as:
- State and local permits and inspections.
- Financial aid programs.
- Lease contract.
- Commercial real estate transactions. more.
Officials say the goal is to create resources to help New Jersey's small businesses grow and thrive.
Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way noted in a press release how important the small business sector is to the state's economy.
“Hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans contribute to the prosperity of our entire state every day,” said Way, who also serves as secretary of state. “We understand the value of investing in tools and resources like the New Jersey Small Business Manual because it delivers high returns for business owners and entrepreneurs.”
NJBAC Executive Director Melanie Willoughby said the manual represents the most common questions and requests for assistance the organization receives from the small business community.
“By compiling information into an easy-to-read and easy-to-use publication, we ensure that important information is accessible to make the lives of entrepreneurs and business owners easier,” Willoughby said. “This manual was truly a collaborative effort across multiple state agencies.”
“When our small business community thrives, we all thrive,” Wei added.
