POSCO Group announced on September 5 that it will showcase its hydrogen business vision at the 2021 H2 Mobility+Energy Show, which will be held at KINTEX in Ilsan from September 8 to 11.
A total of six group companies will participate in this expo: POSCO, POSCO International, POSCO Construction, POSCO Energy, POSCO SPS, and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (RIST).
The POSCO Group's exhibition booth will have an area of 540 square meters and will be organized around the themes of the Group's hydrogen business vision, hydrogen reduction steelmaking, hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and distribution (infrastructure), and hydrogen utilization.
First, at the entrance and above the booth, the POSCO Group's hydrogen business vision will be introduced through a panoramic show and video.
The introductory video at the entrance of the booth will introduce the blueprint of the business that POSCO Group is promoting in various fields such as hydrogen production, storage, distribution, and utilization.
In the center of the booth, POSCO Group's hydrogen reduction steelmaking method is introduced. For the first time in Korea, POSCO plans to use models and videos to visualize the principle of hydrogen-reduced steel and the virtual steel mill that realized it.
Hydrogen reduced iron is a core technology that uses hydrogen as a reducing agent instead of coal, making it possible to produce iron without emitting carbon dioxide, unlike the existing blast furnace method.
We will also exhibit the business model that POSCO Group is promoting in the field of hydrogen production.
POSCO aims to produce 70,000 tons of gray hydrogen by 2025 through steel plant byproduct gas and LNG reformation, and to produce 500,000 tons of blue hydrogen by 2030 by capturing and storing carbon dioxide generated in the process. I plan to.

POSCO Group solutions applied to hydrogen storage and distribution will also be unveiled.
Visitors can touch the steel materials used for hydrogen transportation and see full-scale new products needed for hydrogen infrastructure, such as liquid hydrogen storage tanks, hydrogen vehicle fuel tanks, and storage tanks for charging stations that utilize POSCO steel materials.
POSCO SPS will display models of hydrogen cars and hydrogen drones equipped with POSCO steel parts.
The main parts of POSCO's comprehensive eco-friendly vehicle brand “e-Autopos” will also be displayed in full size.
Meanwhile, POSCO will participate as the chairperson of the “Korea H2 Business Summit,'' a hydrogen consultative body for domestic private companies. POSCO Group Chairman Choi Jeong-woo attended the first meeting of the Korea H2 Business Summit, which will be held prior to the opening ceremony of the H2 Mobility + Energy Show, to share the progress of the group's hydrogen business and discuss ways to cooperate.
