How does Infosys view the role of technology as a catalyst for social development?
Our platforms for e-government, healthcare, and education implement digital public infrastructure as a set of modular services, using standards that enable interoperability and open architecture. We are now harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to enable fraud analysis and detection, preventive diagnostics and healthcare, energy and water conservation, and personalized learning. Technology is the foundation for realizing our ESG vision.
Can you share some examples where technology has played an important role in contributing to the progress of broader society?
To achieve the Infosys ESG vision of digital skills at scale (10 million learners), we are building our flagship digital learning platform to equip people, communities and society with the skills to succeed in the digital and AI era. We launched an Infosys Springboard. Infosys Springboard, powered by Infosys Wingspan, our unified digital learning and collaboration platform, includes content across digital learning, emerging technologies, AI, and life skills, and includes content across digital learning, emerging technologies, AI, and life skills, and is designed to support digital learning in India, the US, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. It is available for free to anyone.
What about working with governments to strengthen public services and health systems? How can we make the public sector more connected, smarter, and agile?
We have worked with the Government of India to design, implement and currently support one of the largest direct and indirect tax transformation digital platforms supporting over 110 million citizens. We are also working with the US and Australian governments to support modernization programs. In the healthcare sector, we worked closely with the Government of Karnataka in 2020 to develop and deploy Aptha-mitra mobile and web applications. This has facilitated online medical consultations for people seeking help managing coronavirus during the lockdown. To this end, we have also developed contact center solutions and backend services in collaboration with a consortium of partners.
How has Infosys extended the power of digital technology to the community?
Infosys actively collaborates with universities, research institutes, and industry associations on digital and technology initiatives that have the potential to impact society globally. For example, under the TechForGood program, Infosys collaborates with his MOSIP program at the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIT-B) to contribute open source modules for eSignet and mobile registration. The Modular Open-Source Identity Platform (MOSIP) is a global digital public good project that helps governments implement digital infrastructure identities in a vendor-neutral, interoperable, and cost-effective manner. Additionally, we have partnered with LV Prasad Eye Institute to develop and deploy his SightConnect. SightConnect is a mobile app that can be used by eye patients, vision guardians, and public health workers to help visually impaired citizens proactively identify problems and benefit from timely eye care interventions. We will assist you in this way.
