Bryant University appoints new dean of business school
Bryant University recently welcomed Dr. Todd M. Alessandri as its new dean of the College of Business, who previously served as associate dean for undergraduate education at Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business.
Alessandri comes to Bryant at a critical time. In the fall, the College of Business will move into the 250,000-square-foot Business Entrepreneurship Leadership Center. In addition to classrooms, the newly renovated facility will feature lab spaces and centers, including the recently announced Frank '81 and Marion '81 Huck Sales Performance Lab and the Ellen Wilson Leadership Center. Other active learning and engagement hubs include the Entrepreneurship Center, Maker Space, and AI, Data Science and Digital Marketing Labs. These new initiatives will significantly enhance experiential learning opportunities for Bryant students, attracting local, national and international business leaders to campus to mentor the business pioneers of the future.
“Bryant University has an outstanding reputation for business education, and the new College of Business building is generating great momentum for the university,” said Alessandri. “I look forward to working with Bryant's incredibly dedicated and talented faculty to enhance and build on the interdisciplinary, globally-minded education for which the school is renowned.”
While at Northeastern, Alessandri coordinated academic programs across three campuses, oversaw interdisciplinary curriculum development, and managed advisors and co-educational staff. Prior to becoming Associate Dean, he led Northeastern's full-time MBA program. As a professor, he has taught at Northeastern, Providence College, Syracuse University, and Babson College. Since 2012, he has been a visiting professor at the Catholic University of the Sacro Cuore in Piacenza, Italy. Prior to joining academia, he held finance and accounting positions at Lifeline Systems and PwC.
