The 'Simplifying the Business Startup Process' event was designed and hosted by Business Gateway West Lothian with the aim of helping future business owners turn their business ideas into successful new ventures.

Attendees also heard from local business owners Sarah Jane Watson (founder of Watson Estate Agency in Armadale) and Claudia Wilnutt (founder of e-commerce) through a panel discussion and Q&A session. , I was able to gain more insight into the challenges of starting my own business. Both businesses, Claudia's K9 Coats for Pets, began operations last October.
Also in attendance at the event was local business owner Louis Gold, founder of Jesus Pizza, a pop-up street food truck based in the Houston Industrial Park.
Future business owner Veronica Levickite felt inspired after attending the event. She said: “It was my first time attending an event like this as a new business founder, and I have to admit that I was very impressed by the warm welcome and sense of inclusiveness that was directed towards me, no matter what stage I was in. Surrounded by people with similar visions and ambitions, I truly felt part of a community.
“This event was beautifully designed, perfectly executed, and reflected the tremendous amount of effort and dedication that must have gone into its planning and execution. It made our journey as new business owners easier. It was great to be able to interact with the people who are working so tirelessly to make it so fulfilling.”

The event was officially opened by Kirstin Sullivan, Executive Councilor for Economy, Community Empowerment and Wealth Building.
